As of Dec 2017 there are plenty of nursing jobs available in Melbourne, it just requires motivation and persistence when applying and you'll be fine.

As far as AHPRA and how they practice the law when assessing internationally qualified nurses – that is another issue. AHPRA seems to overlook any or all documentation and systematically REFUSES all applications with a referral to a 14-17 000 AUD "Bridging Course" which AHPRA is better informed than the schools themselves for the dates for price increase to these courses.

AHPRA seems to be abusing its power to get economic benefits from this system. The MONEY-Link AHPRA has with these schools is clear.

I am a Norwegian nurse and have been in contact with many Norwegian nurses that have gone through nightmares with AHPRA. Some gave up and returned to Norway, some payed their way to an AHPRA Registration by going along with the facade and paying for these 10-14 week rip off courses which – are STANDARDIZED to ALL participants no matter your educational background.

It is only a matter of time before this corrupt scheme is dismantled by a rigorous court procedure.

Until then – be ready to Buy your nursing registration.
