I had applied in (Nov 18) with all documents front-loaded.

They replied in Jan 19 asking for an updated Sponsorship form which we filled online and currently
1. Partner Visa Status = "Further Assessment"
2. Sponsorship Status = "Submitted"

From what I hear, first the Sponsorship will get approved followed by Partner Visa Grant. Nevertheless, it shows 15 - 20 months as the timeline.
My wife's visa was granted the same day I submitted the online sponsorship form. The sponsorship status on my application is still showing as "Submitted".

Thank you. Lodged application online. Wife from Nepal. I'm Australian Citizen. (AHC - New Delhi)

Lodged in Dec 2018. Case Officer requested Medical and 40sp form in February. Submitted them in March. Case Officer requested the 40sp to be submitted online in April. Submitted the online 40sp and Visa granted the same day.

Hi All! We applied for the offshore 309 partner visa from the U.S in March 2018 and still waiting in the U.S for it to be approved.
Can we move back to Australia and have my husband go back on the 600 tourist visa while we wait in Australia for the 309 visa to be approved? We would have sold our house with enough money for him not to be working while we wait... is the 600 tourist visa an option for us? Thanks!!

Hi everyone, Let me say you guys and gals have helped make this process so much easier, We would like to share with you our process albeit very speedy compared to some of you poor buggers, I kind of feel bad posting it really.
Bit of a back story, My wife and I have been together for 3 years, Married for 1 year with our first child due in August this year which we both really wanted to have in Australia. I am from Australia, my wife from Israel.

We applied from Israel, Processed in Tel Aviv for anyone wishing to know.

Lodged: 07th March 2019

Request for more docs: 19th March 2019
Submitted docs: 20th March 2019
Medical minus chest x-ray ( to be done after birth of child ): 22nd March 2019

Request for more docs: 12th April 2019
Submitted docs: 12th April 2019

Visa subclass 309 granted 25th April 2019

Elated is an understatement for both of us, As we are slowly nearing the time where my wife would be refused to fly whilst been pregnant.

Our process was extremely quick and we aren't exactly sure why, we submitted just the bare essentials that they asked for ( as we were told lots of information can sometimes slow and or hinder the process ).

Don't give up people! We wish you all the very best

Hi, wondering if anyone can let me know if this is normal or have a similar situation.

I am an Australian Citizen (born) and my partner is indian national. We have applied for a 309 partner visa on the 4th April 2018.

We have not had any updates, communication or anything from department as if our application has not been seen. I visit India to see my partner as much as possible in between uni and work (every 3-6 months so far).
We applied with police clearance and medicals done so an decision ready application and have applied through an agent.

is this normal to have not heard anything as its coming on 13 months?

Yes, but I wouldn't consider it "moving to Australia". If he's entering on a visitor visa, he should consider himself a visitor and apply as such. Lots of sites to see and people to meet! Don't know that applying for a visitor visa just to "wait out" a partner visa is a good enough reason to get a visitor visa grant, so keep that in mind. You may read on this forum that that excuse works for some but not others.

Yes, that's normal. You won't get any updates stating that you're still in queue (apart from the automated one at one year of waiting that doesn't mean anything other than they didn't forget about your application) and your agent will likely only contact you if they need information. It's a silent waiting game, which is difficult to deal with.
