My wife's visa was granted the same day I submitted the online sponsorship form. The sponsorship status on my application is still showing as "Submitted".I had applied in (Nov 18) with all documents front-loaded.
They replied in Jan 19 asking for an updated Sponsorship form which we filled online and currently
1. Partner Visa Status = "Further Assessment"
2. Sponsorship Status = "Submitted"
From what I hear, first the Sponsorship will get approved followed by Partner Visa Grant. Nevertheless, it shows 15 - 20 months as the timeline.
thats so disturbing. i applied in nov 2018 and visitor visa has been refused twice. i dont know what to do.. already been away from my husband since last july. and it is putting a lot of strain on our relationship.
thats awesome, congratulations.. which country was it from?? and can you share lil background about your case for our better understanding. My wife's visa was granted the same day I submitted the online sponsorship form. The sponsorship status on my application is still showing as "Submitted".

Yes, but I wouldn't consider it "moving to Australia". If he's entering on a visitor visa, he should consider himself a visitor and apply as such. Lots of sites to see and people to meet! Don't know that applying for a visitor visa just to "wait out" a partner visa is a good enough reason to get a visitor visa grant, so keep that in mind. You may read on this forum that that excuse works for some but not others.Hi All! We applied for the offshore 309 partner visa from the U.S in March 2018 and still waiting in the U.S for it to be approved.
Can we move back to Australia and have my husband go back on the 600 tourist visa while we wait in Australia for the 309 visa to be approved? We would have sold our house with enough money for him not to be working while we wait... is the 600 tourist visa an option for us? Thanks!!
Yes, that's normal. You won't get any updates stating that you're still in queue (apart from the automated one at one year of waiting that doesn't mean anything other than they didn't forget about your application) and your agent will likely only contact you if they need information. It's a silent waiting game, which is difficult to deal with.Hi, wondering if anyone can let me know if this is normal or have a similar situation.
I am an Australian Citizen (born) and my partner is indian national. We have applied for a 309 partner visa on the 4th April 2018.
We have not had any updates, communication or anything from department as if our application has not been seen. I visit India to see my partner as much as possible in between uni and work (every 3-6 months so far).
We applied with police clearance and medicals done so an decision ready application and have applied through an agent.
is this normal to have not heard anything as its coming on 13 months?
