Hi guys, just want to ask if one can travel overseas after applying 2nd stage partner visa100 ? my wife submitted visa 100 application last month and we have submitted most of the documents. We will be leaving for 88days in November..

If yes, will this long offshore trip can leave negative effect on her application ? can we request my wife's medical to be done later if CO ask for it while we are overseas?

PS: we bought tickets months before applying 100, was misinformed that 2 years duration will start from day she entered Australia when we planned this trip.

If I'm not mistaken, you can be inside or outside Australia when a decision is made on the 100 visa. Also, you can travel on the 309 visa (no need for another visa). The only factor is that if for some reason, the 100 was denied and your wife is offshore, then I'm not sure that you can go to AAT.

Also, usually no medical is needed for the 100.

Hey,As I know you pay for partner visa 309 and 100 at same time (applying for both subclass at same time )and yes when you grant 309 you can exit and enter anytime.

Proof of your relationship continuing for the 2 years since your 309 application. And of course completing the stage 2 online application forms.

You have said you applied for the 309 in May 2018, so the 100 eligibility will not be until May 2020. You have a bit of time left.

When did you apply for the 309? Was it in May 2017 or May 2018. With a grant in 2018, it looks more like your application was in 2017.

In which case your 100 is due.

When you log into the 2nd stage application it tells you basically what is needed, after you complete the application.

You got the 309 grant very fast. Where are you from?

When we did the 2nd stage, we didn't get any get any checklist, in fact we were not even notified to do it. We just did it when the time was right, and went by what was on the immi site. Basically much the same as the first stage, but no medicals.

the day you pay, you are added to the queue so i guess it the day of payment

Seriously put it out of your mind until at least the 1 year anniversary email.

Well muntinmia, that is a bit pessimistic. The applicant may have lodged through a faster processing office. 15 months is the global time, whilst for example London and Berlin still smashing it out way quicker. One application through Berlin from March 2019 was recently granted! Most people applying from European embassies gets RFI after 4.5-7 months.

I think SLBee’s question is valid and your negative response is not the response we are looking for.

I applied in April and haven’t heard anything yet but hoping to hear soon!

I've seen four 309 applications from Feb 2019 granted: 11/06/19, 23/07/19, 09/05/19 and 09/05/19. (UK, Canada, Netherlands and UK)

In July 2019, 75% were processed in under 15 months.
No point in chasing until after 15 months at the moment.

We lodged our 309 from the Colombo AHC. I have found the following information through this forum.

The median processing times for each processing office is as given below.
This means 50% of cases were completed in less than given number of days and 50% cases have taken more than given number of days in 2017/2018 fiscal year. For Colombo, the median is about 7 to 8 months.

Be positive everyone.

I don't think the Home Office has yet published this data for the fiscal year 2018/2019.
