hey everyone! has anyone heard whether people GRANTED a 309/100 can still enter australia now?

they have closed their borders to everyone but citizens and permanent residents, and i'm not sure if visa holders who have not yet entered the country are considered permanent residents. i was planning to move to australia this summer.

You are given permanent residency when 309/100 is granted so I would think that yes you can go unless anyone else knows any different??

Good luck with your move!
thank you! yes i'm leaning towards thinking i should be allowed in, but i guess i'm hesitating because i haven't actually arrived and "established" my residency there yet, i just have permit to do so? if that makes sense?

Might be best to email immigration to clarify?
yes i tried calling the australian consulate in my country, and they directed me to call the department of home affairs. i waited on hold for about half an hour and then gave up.. i'm not due to fly out for three months so i might just give it a month or two to see how the situation is changing. thanks for your replies.

Hi everyone, I’d like share my timeline here:

Date of lodgement: 31 March 2019
First RFI : 22 July 2019
Second RFI : 22 Oct 2019
Phone interview : 12 March 2020
Visa granted: 12 March 2020

I’m Chinese citizen, living with my partner in NZ. I lodged my application in NZ as well, so the RFI emails, phone call, granted email all come form Fiji office.

Well I'm surprised by my 309 granting last night. ;)

Married: May 2019
DOL: 19/08/2019
309 Granted: 19/03/2020
New Delhi

Never had a phone interview, RFI or anything - I've been told that I'm a good writer and wrote a compelling application (well at least according to my wife). I attached five 888 forms, lots of social photos, etc. I honestly think I just got lucky

Anyone else got grants?? Have a sneaky suspicion the virus helped speed up my application :p

Timeline for my wife's 309 visa process.

We got married: May 2019 (Nepal)
Visa lodged: 25 sep, 2019 (6 months)
Started upoading documents a month later, when she finished her medical.
Visa granted: 19 Mar, 2020 (from New delhi I guess)

I was so scared, cause there were so many errors on form (PP expiry dates and spelliings) but fiiled the form 80 mentioning reasons why it happened. No questions asked, lucky but not so much compared to my friend whose wife got the visa in 4 months. :)

I didn't ring any embassy mate or follow up, just applied on August 2019 and attached updates every now and then (like social photos, etc).

Current processing time is 14-20 months. So anything between 0-14 months , 0-20 months and some very few go beyond 20 months.
Thanks for the reply . I have applied in March 2019 still waiting.
I hope my visa grant will be soon.
Keep updating your immi account of the relationship. Otherwise we are all just waiting 😕. I applied in May 2019.

Bad news is Australia banned all visitors but good news is family members can travel. Like husband wife so just pray for visas
This may be good for partner visas as case officers will have enough time to look at only one group of applications. Hopefully. Since all other visas can't be get in. On a light note.
Hope at the end of the tunnel 🔥🤲🌞😺

What about the people waiting for their prospective marriage visas. This seems so unfair.
