Hi,
I hope I can get some help, as I feel we are not getting any answers from our migration agent. My husbands Visa application has gone in and we were assigned a case officer. He has a Criminal record for Drinking and Driving 6 years ago, which he paid a fine for and did not have to go to jail. The case officer had come back and we needed to give 5 Character references, a letter from my husband explaining the circumstances and all the details of the court date and documents to the Case officer.
We then received news that a further assessment would be done by the VACCU. Does anyone know of who I can contact to find out how long the process will take, as I am all alone in Australia and my husband in SA.
Also we did send motivational letters asking for the process to be sped up, but my immigration agent is not giving us any details.

Thank you ampk. Is there any indication of how long it could take, from my research, the VACCU is an independent organisation from the DIBP. So I am not sure would the whole process take up to 6 months from visa application or just the Verification of his character. Our immigration agent has only told us 6 months, but has not been specific.

If you have applied for a Partner Visa (as it seems) it is I hear today 12-18 months.

It is best to only use Registered Migration Agents and I would use one based in Australia, a few post here.

P.S I lived in Bots about 8 years.

Wow...I hope it does not take that long. Miss my hubby terribly.

Our Migration agent is registered, it just feels like he does not give us all the information. But I will sort it. :) Thanks for the feedback.

Bots is beautiful.
