I was hoping someone would have any experience of my situation & Some advice on how I should approach it.

I'm currently on a WHV In Australia that expires 1st July 2018. I'm applying for a De Facto Partner Visa and all my evidence etc is prepared, i'm just waiting to push the pay button now.

I'm aware that after my WHV Expires on 1st July 2018, i'll be issued a Bridging Visa A Which means I should remain on shore. However, I have arranged to visit the U.K. Before my current visa expires.

My current Visa does allow me to exit and arrive in Australia, however my only concern is, if I arrive back in Australia two weeks prior to my current Visa expiring, Immigration at the border may view me as suspisious and may find it strange that I would fly all the way from the U.K. Into Australia, just two weeks before my Visa expires. Of course I could explain that I will be submitting my Partner Visa Application prior to my Visa Expiring once i'm landed.

The other option I have is to Submit my application before I visit the U.K. However, I'm not sure if the 'On Shore' requirement post-visa application apply only if you're on the Bridging Visa A. At this point, i'll still be on my WHV Despite having already lodged the Partner Visa Application as the bridging Visa does not come into effect until my current visa expires.

I will call Immigration regarding this, but I know many of the guys here have had mixed responses from immigration which hasn't always been accurate!I don't want to have any issues at the border so trying to iron this out asap :)

If you have the option of applying for the partner visa before going to the UK, you should do so. You can re-enter on your WHV. You can get a BVB prior to departure to be on the safe side.

Your other scenario is very risky.

Calling the Department will solve nothing.

I'm in a very similar situation although our dates are much tighter - we'll have around a week before the WHV expires before lodging the substantive partner visa.

Immigration told us that it was fine and that the BVA is provided instantaneously, provided it is applied for and granted prior the expiration of the WHV.

No real issue unless your leaving the country in between those dates..

It's not always instantaneously. Some people get it within hours of applying. Others might not get it for several days. Better to be safe than sorry and give yourself plenty of time in case of delays or unforeseen circumstances.
