The 12 months is more of a guide than a set time. If you're close to 12 months they will still, more than likely, ask for a police check

Hi,
Trying to figure out a few things around the following item:
the total time you spent outside Australia adds up to 12 months or more
1- Is this the time from your "Permanent residence date" (i.e. date first landed in Australia on PR)?
2- is 12 months calculated as 365 days?
We're not at 12 months if the Permanent residence date is used and 12 months is calculated as 365, but if not on either of these, we may need an OPCC.
