Hello All,

I have a question regarding overseas work experience definition on a sc189 visa.

Who defines overseas work experience? Is it the Australian professional body assessing your skills (for example I am an Accountant and the Australian accounting body have assessed my skills) OR is the Australian border agency who define my experience?

I have approx 12 years of accounting experience overall meaning i should be able to receive 15 overseas skill points.... However the Australian accounting body has only signed off 6.8 years giving me only 10 points meaning i am under 8 years of experience to achieve the higher points.

Which points go into my overseas application? the 15 points for the 12 years or the 10 points for 6.8 years assessed by the Oz Accounting body?

If anyone is interested thje CPA would only sign off 6.8 years because an old employer would not sign off a reference for me because they had destroyed my records.

Thanks for your help,
B&M
