I'm gathering evidence for my partner application and one key part of it is that we lived with each others parents and so don't share utility bills or have a mortgage together etc.

I'm planning to prove the finances and living arrangements with stat decs and bank statements where we've paid for different things together. I will highlight the important transactions on both our statements and add comments to make it easier to read. The issue i've noticed is though; even with me highlighting things, it will be a lot of unimportant transactions for the case officer to sift through. Doing this for 36 months of statements could be ~216 pages. To further make it easier to read, do you guys think i'm allowed to remove some of the unimportant rows from the bank statement?

Do a few statements over the 36 months, say 4 max 5 and offer to supply all statements on request.

Supply a cover page explaining the highlights colour coded if that works for you - green food, red electricity.

From memory I supplied the front page of the statement + only relevant pages of statement not entire statement.

- I gave them all, both our bank statements, but i did only the withdrawals /debits transactions. I did this through online banking transaction preference. I also put remarks on the relevant transactions and pdf the file, which i did through 5 files. Good luck :)

As per what AMPK said, supply a couple of statements showing major purchases. Make all statements available on request, those trivial purchases tend to be good to show a split of groceries etc so don't discount them as useless to you, they all tell a story.

This is great advice. We did something similar on our application.

We filtered our statement to show all online transfers made to our landlord for rent each month.

For our day to day items we showed all major purchases but said in a brief statement after outlining what was in the financial aspects section that full in depth statements were available upon their request.
