Dear All,

I am Hongkonger and my partner is an Australian. I have got a 5-year permanent resident visa till Apr 2023. My sister -in law and mother-in law are in Australia.

At this moment, I have been offered a promotion in my job to China for 2 years. I plan to move to Australia afterwards.

I have some questions before i decide to go or not:

1. If i move to Australia, it would be Jul 2020. I have not got 4 yr stay for my application of citizenship. Am i qualified to applied for a 5 year Returning resident visa? What documents should I provide?

2. When i apply for citizenship, what documents should i provide? Having stayed 2 yrs in China, do i need to provide my job contract and any criminal record in china? Do i need to have another body check?

3. Anything I should prepare for my citizhenship?

I feel things come in a sudden. Before i got the visa, I have no opportunity. Once i got the visa, this promotion comes!
Hope someone can help me. I dont want it affects my Australia citizenship.

You're at least 2-4 years away from either needing/applying for either a RRV or citizenship and the rules may change significantly between now and then.

Do you know what types of documents I should prepare for my application of RRV and Citizenship?
For the presence in China, will it cause a lot of problems on my application?
