There is only the one health check, it is done as the 801 check when you apply for the combined 820/801.
New Police check will be needed again for the 2nd stage 801.

We didn’t need to apply for 801 as we hadn’t received our 820 lol
We did the entire application ourselves no help from any agent!
Total waiting time from application 32 months!
Gosh the waiting time is a killer! But we are both so happy we made it through the process! Just struggled a bit with not hearing anything for almost 3 years. And seeing so many people get the 820 within months! But we made it and now can relax!
Take it easy and if everything is honest with your relationship and application there will be no problems!
We been chatting so much about this process and how much we appreciate the journey in the end. Ups and Downs but all worth it in the end!

No. It doesn't. Once you are PR, you are a permanent resident in yourself. Only a fraudulent PR application might be able to be looked at.

I am gonna apply for citizenship this November but my original passport is expiring in march 2023, do i need to renew my passport for citizenship process or dont need to coz i have applied for Australian citizenship. (Basically Australian passport)

I did my own citizenship some years ago using my expired passport. I even used the fact that I had no passport as a reason to get an Australian passport issued faster, at extra cost.

I can only think that staff are being redirected to processing rather than updating information, to cover those off work due to COVID.Hello,

My wife got an invitation on March, and then applied on April. Haven't heard anything back since then...
As @pumpkinspice mentioned above, the latest update of "global processing times" was on 5th May. No idea what's going on.

The global processing times don't change by large differences so for something like the 801 it would still give a close enough indication

The last 801 grant, that I saw, took 12 months. That was late July. Individual times can vary for many reasons.

Double grant 820/801 (onshore)

Our timeline:
June 2015 - met via mutual church friends
July 2015 - started dating
Oct 2015 - he moved in with me (was all very quick but when you know you know lol)
July 2016 - married
2016, 2017, 2019 - had 3 kids together (I also have an older daughter who now shares his surname)
Oct 2019 - Applied 820/801. Received BVC with no work rights. Applied for and granted BVC with work rights 2 days later.
Radio silence, just usual "Application in progress" emails twice a year.
Just kept uploading documents regularly - joint bank statements, super statement, kids birth cetificates, rental lease, social media screenshots, photos etc.
June 2022: s56 asking for AFP, Health checks and passport as they had expired. Uploaded AFP, passport details.
July 25 2022: Health checks done
Aug 5 2022: Double grant 820/801!
Processing office: Ottawa, Canada
Total time: 33.5 months!
So thankful for this forum for keeping me sane and giving me the information I needed! I should add that my husband had overstayed his previous visa. We anticipated Schedule 3, putting money aside when the time would come to get legal help for the waiver but after 2 years of silence our one and only RFI/s56 was for the AFP, health checks and passport details. I've read elsewhere that sometimes immi may progress your application without asking more info on it but we were very lucky. I did continuously add documents every few months though.

Curious how everyone else's applications are progressing?
When the processing times aren't being updated and all the visa news and focus is related to skilled visas it can feel like your application is on pause. Have many people had their application approved recently or has the change in government caused some delays?
My current timeframe is:
5 July 2019 - applied 820
22 Dec 2020 - s56 asking for AFP police check
27 January 2021 - 820 granted (18 month processing time)
6 June 2021 - applied for 801 (1 month before eligibility)
August 2022 - Still waiting - 37 months and counting....

You are currently at 13 months for the 801. (5 July 2021 to 7 August 2022.)
The last figures, between January and March, showed that 25% of applications took over 12 months to be finalised. I am guessing that it may be longer now with the staff shortages.
