Hi - am looking for a little advice here - my partner ( Australian Citizen ) and myself ( UK Citizen ) are now both here in Perth. We are applying onshore for an 820 visa. we have de facto in our opinion but am looking for advice on the previous 12 months as my partner did travel 3 months before I landed in mid November. We have been in a serious relationship for over three years living together - this three month separation i have read could be viewed dimly - any advice on this please ?
For info i came later as had house to sell from my deceased mother, work to complete and financial affairs to put in place, My partner traveled early to look for work ( successfully ) and to be with her sons one who needed some support.

The time apart shouldn't be too big an issue if you can provide some rationale (what you've said is logical reason to travel separately) and also evidence that you continued to be in a de facto relationship, i.e. how did you maintain contact, shared finances, etc. while you were apart.
