Hi, with the law change incoming that will require sponsor's to first be validated, I need to get my partner visa application submitted before it takes affect. I have been working for it on the last month. So far I have the below ready to go. Do you think it's enough? Any feedback or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Weaknesses
  • No joint bank account
  • No joint lease or utilities
  • I'm chasing people but not all form 888 will be ready immediately for upload, planning to upload as they appear

Context
6 years long relationship, together ~4 years of that, long distance ~2 years of that, physically living in same location for since the last ALMOST 3 years.

Relationship Development Statement
4-5 page statement from each of us about how our relationship developed over the last 6 years, stuff we did together, examples of support for each other, periods of separation, future plans and how they evolved

Nature of Commitment
  • Facebook photo of us in a relationship
  • We both have draft wills, getting them attested very soon
  • Sample screenshots from skype chats, chat dump of full Skype chat since 2015 (we lost a previous skype)
  • 10 sample chats of some significance; full Facebook chat dump ~160,000 messages
  • Few letters we sent to each other whilst apart

Social Aspects
  • Wedding invitation addressed to us both, facebook group invitation to family event
  • Tickets to 4 or so different events between 2015-2018
  • ~30 photos of us over the last 6 years on holidays and at places (no selfie type photos)
  • Photo of mutual friends on facebook
  • ~10 social media posts by friends with a photo of us doing some kind of social activity
  • ~10 photos of us with friends/family together
  • ~12-14 form 888 from family/friends covering most of the last 6 years (only 3 in ready to go state)
  • 2 separate examples of joint travel

Nature of household
  • 1 page statement from each of us about housework
  • Statement summarising our living arrangements for the last 6 years
  • We lived at family homes so no lease/mortgage/joint utilities - but I highlighted 25 months of bank statements showing that we either paid for day to day expenses together, or took it in turns
  • Statements from parents that they paid the utilities etc. and we both lived with them as a couple
  • approx. 25 differing letters addresed to each of us separately, but always at the same address over the last 3 years

Financial Aspect
  • One page statement from each of us about how we share finances which means sometimes buying things together, or one supporting the other
  • 6 long-haul flights to see each other, I know it's not strictly under this category but they always cost a lot and there are an important financial part of us being together
  • 6 holiday examples where one of us paid the flight the other paid the accommodation type thing
  • A time where I supported them last year
  • A time where they supported me this year
  • Bank transfers and transferwises to each other over the last 6 years
  • Stat dec from both our parents about how we don't need to pay utilities and lived at family homes
  • last 30 months or so of bank statements highlighting various transactions where we "shared finances"
  • Cash point withdrawals I did where I gave money whilst I supported partner (should of make a joint bank account I know :/)

your ready, just upload anything not ready asap, from memory, stat dec's from friends & family within 6 weeks of lodgement, your evidence is comprehensive, besy wishes for your application...
my wife & I applied jan 2016 for a prospective marriage visa ourselves, we hired a leading sydney immigration lawyer , but sacked them as their para-legal was useless, we did ourselves & were successful, we got our P.M.V september 2017, we married in march this year, applied for next stage ( temporary residency ) in april this year, got immediate bridging visa granted, got temporary visa today after 7 months...
Process is daunting, you read of alot about knock backs , but these are either fake or not very english literate ...
you can do it

Hi, to me it seems like you have most things in order, so I think you should be ready to start your application.

Can you tell me what law change you are talking about? I tried googling, but couldn't find anything specific to this. Would be interesting to know if the standards are going to change soon.

Many thanks

From your list you look pretty much ready. I realise I recommended you see an agent yesterday in another thread. Still worth doing to confirm everything!
Best of Luck with it. We're lodging today.

  • No joint bank account

** Address why in your statement.
  • No joint lease or utilities

** Address why in your statement.
  • I'm chasing people but not all form 888 will be ready immediately for upload, planning to upload as they appear

** You have 3 - 12 to 14 is way too many.

Context
6 years long relationship, together ~4 years of that, long distance ~2 years of that, physically living in same location for since the last ALMOST 3 years.

** No dramas here.

Relationship Development Statement
4-5 page statement from each of us about how our relationship developed over the last 6 years, stuff we did together, examples of support for each other, periods of separation, future plans and how they evolved

** 4-5 can be long - don't waffle.

Nature of Commitment
  • Facebook photo of us in a relationship

** I'm separated, my Facebook probably says in a relationship or it is complicated.
  • We both have draft wills, getting them attested very soon

** Good - What is the date?
  • Sample screenshots from skype chats, chat dump of full Skype chat since 2015 (we lost a previous skype)

    ** Since 2015 is good.
  • 10 sample chats of some significance; full Facebook chat dump ~160,000 messages

    ** 10 samples is good.
  • Few letters we sent to each other whilst apart

** Good and rare!

Social Aspects
  • Wedding invitation addressed to us both, facebook group invitation to family event

** Did you attend? are they a 888 provider? and Photos?
  • Tickets to 4 or so different events between 2015-2018

** Tie in payment or photos or do they have your name on them?
  • ~30 photos of us over the last 6 years on holidays and at places (no selfie type photos)

    ** Watch your total photos.
  • Photo of mutual friends on facebook

    ** Helps but not great.
  • ~10 social media posts by friends with a photo of us doing some kind of social activity

    ** Is evidence.
  • ~10 photos of us with friends/family together

** These type are good especially over time.
  • ~12-14 form 888 from family/friends covering most of the last 6 years (only 3 in ready to go state)

** 12 -14 is too many cut it down.
  • 2 separate examples of joint travel

** Good

    ** Good.
  • Statement summarising our living arrangements for the last 6 years

All good.

I would apply now.
