Partner visa is pretty horrible

So here’s the thing. I applied for my partner visa from UAE in Jan 2016. I received the temporary partner visa 309 in April 2016. Prior to this, I resigned from my job to move to UAE since my wedding was in the UAE. Since then, I haven’t been able to find employment. Moved to Melbourne in Jan 2016. Attended couple of interviews. It looks to me that no one wants to hire someone with a temporary resident visa thought my visa clearly states that I’m allowed to work. Even entry level roles require two years of local experience. So here I am, all in all, unemployed for 2.5 years. I’ve just applied for my permanent partner visa 100 and it says 19 to 23 months of processing time? Like what is really going on? How do I find employment with this visa in this country when no one is willing to hire me? I can’t study either because temporary partner visa holders are considered international and that’s going to be expensive. Do I go back to my country, get some more experience and come back? how should I really approach this? Any advise would be highly appreciated.

Sorry. Moved to Melbourne in Jan 2017. Not 2016.
Thanks Steve and Mania. I’m already doing a certificate course from uni melb. And the full time course cost about 50,000 $. Also, I’ve been applying for jobs outside my field. Data entry, McDonald’s, Kmart, admin, retail etc you name it and my resume is pretty tailored to it. No cherry picking there. The standard response is they have better candidates which is fair. I guess this is just a waiting game. Maybe I’ll have a look at the aged care courses.

😭😭😭😭😭😭 Nope. I was trying to say if I had to opt for one, it would be 50 K for a full time 2 yr course. The certificate course I’ve taken up is 13 K.
For real? I'm studying from Uni Melb. its just 4 subjects and each subject is 3300 $. If what you say is true, I should ideally get a job after this course ends. If not, do another certificate course. Let's see how it goes. Thanks though.
Hi Mish. My resume is quite tailored to Australian standards. Thing is I can’t do much to it because I just have 2 years of experience. 1 in customer support and 1 in the relevant field I would want to get a job in (clinical research). What would you suggest I do?
