Why would they ask me ( sponsor ) do the police check ? As you know police check has valid dates, unless they trying to give us the visa ?

We actually did all of that,my partner did all those things as a sponsor and it is mandatory,submit all documents they ask ( sponsor) and I think you be alright..

We did sponsor form if I remember correctly, after paying Application fees..

even if you done doing police check etc., you still need to wait,there's a process on everything..and it's a case to case basis..
