Hi! I am from Sri Lanka and have lodged my Partner Provisional Visa(subclass 309) on December 10th, 2018. Two weeks back the status changed as further assessment. I wonder how long it takes to finalize and when will they send the details of the visa officer?

75% of 309 applications were done in under 13 months in December 2018.

It can be many months under "further assessment".

As far as Case Officers go, they no longer assign specific officers to a case, the processing can be carried out by a number of people.
They will only contact you if they need additional information.

In 2017-18, there were 726 Provisional Partner visas granted at Colombo (Sri Lanka) office, in a median of 230 days (about 7-8 months). Half were faster, half took longer.

However, that is no guarantee that 2018-19 will not be longer.

im from sri lanka as well. applied mine last year October, I got an email in December from a case officer asking to submit a certified copy of my marriage certificate. since then no update.
