Hi everyone,

I am starting to gather all that i need to apply for a partnership vsa and have a couple of questions.

I am from Scotland and have been in australia since october 2017, i am currently on the working holiday 417 visa. I have been with my partner (who is a australian citizen) for two years now.

How would I register our relationship as de facto in queensland?
Can I extend my visa for the second year (after completing my reional work which i currently doing) and still apply for this visa?

No point in doing a second year WHV if you qualify de facto before the first year is up and apply for a partner visa onshore as you'll get a bridging visa to remain.

If you don't qualify, then a second WHV would be good for you to continue building evidence for a partner visa.

is entering a civil partnership the same as becoming de facto?

You don't have to register a relationship to be considered de facto for a partner visa.

And yes, a civil partnership is registering a relationship.
