My wife and daughter were granted permanent residency today before they are due to fly into Australia, for the first time, on their visitor visa which was granted last month. This being a good thing, I am wondering " would the visitor visa cease to exist Automatically with the grant of PR or should the department be intimated? " I see that there is no channel to update such information through the immi account.

Has anyone got Answers. Much appreciate your time.

A Visa grant after the Visitor Visa grant will cancel the Visitor Visa, you can check on VEVO.
ampk - you were right. It did not occur to me as I was only looking at the visa grant letter. the fact that the VEVO for visitor visa returned a response as " this is not the current valid visa" and the VEVO for Permanent residency returned with details and status "In effect" suggests that it the earlier visa has automatically ceased to exist.

Much appreciate your tip.
