Applying for ADF

We came to Perth permanently on the 23 April 2000 and lived here since. Our daughter 22yrs old went back to NZ on July 2016 to try out NZ life. She wants to join the ADF. Can she,as a permanent resident of Australia or is it too late. What are her opstions. Thanks

Look into citizenship requirements, there is a certain time they have needed to be in the country over from memory the last 5 years??

Think they need to be citizen for ADF, and need to comply with the living in Australia conditions to apply.

Thank you, we were not sure if there was a time frame of leaving Australia before she could still enter as a permanent resident

Unless she has a valid visa (e.g. Resident Return Visa), then she won't be able to re-enter Australia. If she's become a NZ citizen during the time she's lived there, then she should be able to enter Australia on her NZ passport although I'm not sure if the 444 visa she'd be granted would replace her Australian PR visa, so she should look into that.
To qualify for Australian citizenship, she'd need to meet the residency requirements and since she's been outside Australia for more than a year, she'd need to wait at least 3 years and hope the legislation doesn't change between now and then.
