Your application is being processed under the Global Processing Arrangement. This means that you don't have one case officer. Your case is picked up a case office when it ready to progress in the queue. Your case is likely with the Character Section of the Immigration Department. Once it has passed through there it will be returned from processing. If what you have said is accurate then it should not be a problem. It just takes time. So be patient.

Hi There. I have followed this forum for a long time but have only just registered in order to ask for some direction.

My Canadian fiance has applied through Ottawa for a PMV 300:
Applied online February 2016 with no agent.
March 2016 - they requested medical and police check.
RCMP held us up for 4 months taking that long to send the police check, and when my fiance received it finally, it has his wrong brith date on it (their mistake, not ours). Had to apply for a new police check which took another 3 months to arrive.
Nov 2016 - submitted police check
Dec 2016 - requested to provide details of crime listed

Crime was minor (summary offence as opposed to indictable, and no conviction recorded - small fine paid) and occured in 2008.

My fiance duly submitted a detailed account on Dec 5th 2016, and since then we have heard nothing.

He has tried phoning the Australian High Commission in Ottawa on the Visas and Immigration phone number on their web site (+1 (613) 238 1040) but never gets a human, only a recorded message to which no one ever returns calls. He has also emailed our CO to ask if she received his statement and to ask about progress, and has never received a reply. The only contact we have ever had with the CO is via 'official' Request for Information, never person to person. Is this normal?

The frustration is that it has been all but a year now, and we are unable to even contact our CO to ask about progress. Has anyone had any luck actually contacting their Ottawa CO and getting any information? Since we're coming up to a year, and other PMVs (seemingly much more complicated ones!) on this forum have been approved through Ottawa in as little as 4 months, we are now getting concerned that there may be a problem. We are both single, no children involved, both financially stable professionals, no negative visa history, low risk country etc.

Does anyone have any advice on a way to actually be able to speak to our CO in Ottawa?

Thanks in advance :)
I applied for PMV through Ottawa and was approved within 2.5 months. Crazy, I know. Our application confirmation, request for more documents and visa grant letter were all issued by the same officer so I guess that was my case officer. When I had a random question the officer answered my email, when I had a specific question I never received an answer. I guess they are somehow restricted in what they are allowed to tell you and what not. All you can do is to stay patient

Thanks Tweety15884 - I was afraid this was the answer I was going to get! It's such a horrible process when your entire life is on hold because you don't even have any idea of what will happen. I have even considered moving to Canada (because my fiance is Canadian) purely because it takes so bloody long this way! Ah well, I can only hope the wait will bear fruit. It's pretty frustrating though when you see applications going through in 2.5 months and you've been waiting with baited breath for almost a year :/
I waited over 12 months for my Canadian visa, didn't hear anything from my officer for 10 months. I know the feeling. It's frustrating. Good luck to you

I would say find another way to get in contact with them. A CO had "sent" us an email that neither of us received and there were no notifications in my immi account nor changes. Fortunately, a month later a different CO emailed me (still using wrong email for my partner: ".cm" instead of .com and nowhere in the application or immi account did we make that mistake).

This probably isn't the case for you, but if you can get ahold of someone to confirm your app is still just waiting in line, at least you'd know there aren't any communication issues.

Try calling the Washington DC office and asking about your app. They may or may not be able to tell you something but maybe they'll transfer you directly to someone in the Ottawa office?

Hi guys, do you know the REAL processing time for a 300 in Ottawa? I loaded my app in February 2016, did my medicals in May, and requested my non migrating kids to be tested. After few extensions (cause my ex didnt wanted to collaborate) i finally tested the kids in Toronto while on vacation with them.
Im venezuelan, living in Mexico, so I think Im a High risk country.
Since december no contact with the case officer, but I have 7 months without been able to see my fiancee due to work of both parts.
I dont want to apply for a new tourist stream visa if the REAL processing time is coming to an end.. We are really exhausted...

Well, in their defense... Everytime I call, I have been able to communicate with a representative, I even recall Agatha, a Brazilian lady very nice to me. They responded me as much as they are able to, and made notes in the application to the case officer.
My case officer, as tough as she has to be, granted me 3 time extensions to achieve my Non migrating kids to be tested, as my ex wife was trying to ramson my visa process..Allegating allemony debts etc etc etc. Of course Im desperate to see Gaby, we have 7 months over skype, whatsapp etc. I hope teletransportation comes into reality soon, if this goes longer.. Breath in, breath out.... I feel like in a never ending labor process here...

Strange - I've only ever got a recorded message on that number, and no one ever calls back :(

Calling during the 'telephone business hours' they have listed on the Australian High Commission - Ottawa's web site.
