Hi Everyone,

Me and my fiancee are applying for the PMV next week an have some questions about our weddings. Obviously after our pmv is granted we will have to get married in 9 months and apply for 820 partner onshore.

I am sponsoring my fiancee from Fiji and we are both hindu. During the 9 months we want to have a legal wedding in Australia registered by a celerant. After the legal wedding is done, we apply for the 820.

The question is, can we have our traditional hindu wedding AFTER we apply for the 820 visa at any time ? I know DIBP will raise questions on why we did not have our hindu wedding before we applied for the 820 visa because of our religion. Can we tell them before that we would like to keep our hindu wedding separate for another time ?

All our other evidences are fine. I just need some assurance to make sure we dont get into trouble in the future. Im wondering if anyone else has been in this situation and would appreciate your input.

Thanks ?
