Hi All,
Me (UK) and my partner (Aus) have applied for our PMV through an agent nearly 3 months ago and haven't received anything back yet, is this the norm? I'm reading threads about case officers being assigned / asking for more evidence but we've not received anything asking for this yet.

Should I chase this up?

Not everyone hears from their case officer before the grant. There are a lot that don't hear from their case officer until the grant - especially if they have supplied everything they need to and have done the medicals and police checks.

We've gone through an agent in Brisbane but both currently living in the UK as my visa expired months ago. Our agents haven't asked for any medical / police checks from us yet.

Do you mind me asking what status is your application at now?
Mine is still at 'submitted' and I'm not sure if that's normal

Hi...i hv applied for pmv from pakistan in feb 2018... n still no CO has been assigned. Plus my status says "initial assessment" since the day i hv applied... so relax

We applied via RMA 6 months ago (via London) and still nothing (front loaded). Agent been really good at keeping in touch so we don't feel abandoned! No point in worrying - we'll get a decision when we get a decision. Yes, the waiting is hideous, but we knew what we'd signed ourselves up for! Just get our immi amount updated every time we're together again/doing stuff so additional evidence being added every 7-8 weeks.

Most of the time the application just sits there with no one looking at it. It is not as if an individual case officer is actively managing your application from the word go. It is all very impersonal. Actual processing only takes days, if not hours and much of the initial processing is automated. Someone will pick it up at some stage and may request further information/medicals/police certificates, if required.

Most of the time nothing happens and it’s just a waiting game.
