We have been requested by immigration to do a police check which is great.
My wife had previously overstayed her visa here in Australia hence the reason we are applying for the 309 offshore and once granted she will be back.

She will need to do a police check in her current country and also with the AFP.

Given that she had overstayed in Australia before but is now going through the process offshore. Will this come up on her AFP check? She left voluntarily and was not deported.

I’m sure many people who’ve overstayed have gone back and applied for a visa offshore so I would think that this was common.

Just wanted to get your thoughts.
Thanks.
