PPV - Time limit for being out of Aust.

Hi. My partner has a permanent partner visa for 5 years. We had moved to and lived in Australia from Sept 2015 to December 2017. Since then we have moved to Scotland to have our 2nd child. We are planning to move back and live in Australia in 2020.
Is there a regulation on how long my partner is allowed to be out of the country regarding the PPV? Will her visa status be affected if she is out of Australia for an extended period of time?
Thanks in advance.

A permanent visa is permanent. You're asking about the travel facility on it which initially comes as 5 years. As long as that RRV is still valid when she tries to reenter, then she'll be fine. If it expires while she's offshore, she won't be able to enter. She'll need an RRV anytime she wants to reenter Australia.

You can read about the requirements on the immigration website .

So if you plan on moving back before Sept 2020, you should be fine. Just make sure to apply for a new RRV if you want to go offshore again for any reason after September 2020. If the move is after the 5 year facility expires, apply for a new RRV before (note processing times). Check the travel facility expiry in VEVO.
