Hi guys

My wife and her 2 kids are on PMV 300. We married each other and were doing application through the agent.
We are ready to lodge the application for 820/801 now and agent sent me the invoice for $10300 to be paid for DIBP.
Is it really that expensive?

I read that the holders of 300 visa are paying much less then the ones that apply straight for partner visa and the price is from from $1170 up while the ones who go straight to 820- price starts from $7000.
Does the agent try to make extra money on side?

That figure of $10,300 (to be paid to DIBP) is puzzling either way

$7,000 + 2 kids at $1,755 each = $10,510 for direct 820 visa (This would be wrong for you though)
$1,170 + 2 kids at $290 each = $1,750 for 300 to 820 visa

I would expect $1,750 + agents fees

I would still request any itemized account so you can see what you're paying to immigration and what you're paying for the agent fees.

If they're claiming that 10k is only for immigration, then it is clearly a mix up.

Is one of the children over 18? I know it costs more to add adult children.

It’s clearly a mistake.
