Hello forum.

My family and I visited Australia a while back and we loved it beyond words. We realised that the life we live in northern Europe appeals less and less with cold shivering weather and cramped up living.

A dream was conceived of relocating to Australia.

We are both professionals in the healthcare (dentistry), one being a specialist, the other a general dentist. The general dentist could have the qualifications accepted in a few months time (University degree accepted), whilst the other would have to go through a program that may take some time. We are willing to take that headache to be able to kick of our boots and put on our sandals in our free time...

But we have now realised that we are not fitting the sandals...our line of work is now only on the TSS list (2 years temporary Visa), as opposed to earlier.

We are too old (both 45 in a matter of months). We would score only 45 points without English test, (65 hopefully with), but would need 80 points on the 489 application that needs to be handed in before 45.

The only hope is a TSS visa, but that does not give us the right to apply for PR. So even if we get a sponsor (which we probably can), after two years, or max four years with an extension, we'd have to kick of our sandals and put on our boots...

So in a last desperate attempt to keep the dream, I'm turning to this forum looking for advice to see if we've misunderstood anything.

Are two highly trained professionals at 45 years of age damaged goods? Unwanted? Has the last ship really sailed for a PR?
