Question about second year work holiday visa

I'm sorry but that does NOT count towards the 2nd year. The job both has to be in an approved post code area as well as in an approved field (farming, fruitpicking etc.) In order to count. A list of approved fields can be found on the DHA website. So your friend is wrong in this matter unfortunately.

You should start with reading the requirements for a second year 417: https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/trav/visa-1/417-#tab-content-1

Also, getting married doesn't make your chances of getting a partner visa any different than not being married. It's about relationship evidence and you either meet the requirements or you don't. Being married isn't an automatic thing as most applicants would be in sham marriages just for the opportunity to live in Australia. So if you are already planning to marry, then go ahead, but don't do it for a partner visa because it doesn't really work that way. The onshore 820/801 is the same application whether you're de facto or married and requires the same evidence categories.

Going for a second WHV is a good move, as it will give you plenty of time to establish the partner relationship and get some good evidence together. Just make sure you do the right type of work in the right postcode. The link Sky posted has all the details. Make sure you allow enough time, so you don't end up being a few days short and make sure everything is above board, well documented and beyond any doubt.

Am I correct in the assumption you don't have enough time remaining on your current WHV to qualify for a second year?

We have been dating since 2015, so relationship evidence we got enough of that. We got statements of people etc etc.
My visa runs out in september it just makes me nervous i started in February on a vineyard. And luckily enough we live in a rural area and our postcode is included.

You need evidence that your relationship is at the level of de facto, dating is not sufficient.

If you started on a vineyard in an eligible regional area in February, you should have plenty of time to get the required evidence for a second WHV.

Don't underestimate the amount and the quality of the relationship evidence that is required. We are talking about evidence of a de-facto relationship, not a boyfriend/girlfriend situation. A de-facto relationship is basically the same as being married and the evidence must support that.

I dont get what you mean with boyfriend/girlfriend? We are engaged since september 2017. We are getting married so you are confusing me right now

You mentioned "dating", so that is a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship. If you became formally engaged in September, then that's probably where you would start counting from.
