Hi, i have recently got my bridging visa and it is valid till january. I have applied for my temporary graduate visa (485). Will i have to return incase my graduate visa gets granted before that time? One of my friend said that i need to be present in australia when they want to give me the TR Visa.

If you are applying as the main applicant, you and anybody else covered by the application must be in Australia when you apply for this visa and when your visa is decided.
