Hello everyone,
I am a PhD Student from Germany and I plan to work with the University of Sydney for around 3 months from September to November.
However I would like to stay a bit longer (end of December) to do a bit of vacation afterwards.
Does anyone have any experience if the extra period of stay is usually granted? Or do you have to leave the countrydirectly after your work is finished?
My invitation letter only covers Sep-Nov but I do have the sponsorship notification from the university that is necesary for a visa with a stay period >3 months.
If the visa will not be granted for a longer period than the affiliation period can I apply for an additional visitor visa? Could I do this before traveling to Australia in September (so holding both visa?)
Another option is to apply for the working holiday 417 which to me more and more appears to be the easiest solution.
I hope someone can help me with this.
