Good evening everyone,
have someone recently had problems to have the extension for the second year visa 417? Did someone of you get investigated or the visa has been rejected or refused? What the worst case scenario can happen if the immigration think something is dodgy? I m asking this because i would like to apply for it but i cannot guarantee to prove my work... i have worked cash in hand and for short period of time, after, because of a phisical problem, i had to stop, i got the information about another farmer from a friend of mine. Right now i m in Australia and i m working in a hospitality job and i will turn 31 in a week so i m in a very tough situation, i would really like to stay one more year but i don t want to risk my last 4 months of my first year visa. I know is not correct for who did the job till the last day but if you can share with me your experience you ll do me a big favor and help to clarify my ideas. Thanks all in advance.

I got asked to supply extra information and documents about my work which I did and it took them 3 months to grant my second working holiday.

I would be very careful if I were you. The law has recently changed, submitting a false document/information now can result in a 10 year ban (which used to be 3 years).

As has been said you can get a 10 year ban for submitting false or misleading information.

Also it would be hard to show you worked fir the place if you were paid cash in hand. If need be DIBP could use their legal powers to request your bank statements which will show where you were when ATM withdrawals or purchases were paid and if they match up with what you told them about working.

The requirements to be eligible for a second WHV are very clear-cut. You either meet the requirements or you don't.

There has been a lot of dodgy stuff going on with second WHV applications, so you can expect a high degree of scrutiny.

Evidence of specified work

If the Working Holiday visa holder applies for a second Working Holiday visa, they will need to provide evidence that they have satisfied the specified work eligibility requirement. Acceptable evidence of specified work (completed while on their first Working Holiday visa) includes original or certified copies of the following:

  • pay slips (must be supplied for all specified work performed from 31 August 2015)
  • a written and signed piecework agreement setting out the pay rate per piece and how it is measured
  • group certificates
  • payment summaries
  • tax returns
  • employer references
  • a completed Form 1263 Working Holiday visa: Employment verification (75KB PDF)
  • Australian bank statement covering the period of declared specified work
  • a written and signed agreement setting out any lawful deductions in pay

Note: Providing a completed Form 1263 and additional forms of evidence will allow a Working Holiday visa application to be assessed more quickly.

Please ensure that all information provided is correct.

Contacting third parties to verify the claims of applicants for second Working Holiday visas will now be a standard component of second Working Holiday visa application assessments.

Providing a false or misleading declaration or fraudulent evidence for any visa application can result in the application being refused or cancelled. If the applicant's visa is cancelled they may be prevented from lodging further applications and be excluded from Australia for a period of three years.

To be honest some of them struggled to get their days done in time, in the end they ended up doing some free labour for dodgy farmers that would sign extra days for them.
