Hi guys, please I want to get your advice on our case:

I am holding a PR and currently living/working full-time in Melbourne. My wife used to be a fellow of AAS scholarship which forced her to leave Australia for 2 years since completion of study. Accordingly, she has left for 7 months and she will be allowed to apply for partner visa 309 to go back here in 7/2020.
We just welcomed our son oversea and now I have 2 options for him:
1. Apply Child 101 for him: this requires lots of paper works and it is very inconvenient to bring him for medical check as there is no physical panel doctors as her place.
2. Wait until 7/2020 when my wife lodge partner 309 and include him as a dependant. After lodging partner 309, I plan to apply tourist visa for my wife and my son to come over to stay with me while waiting for processing. I understand well that I have to buy insurance for them on tourist visa, as he cannot get medicare as in option 1, but the paper works seem easier.

Can you please give me you opinions.

Many thanks,
Phuong

Including him in the partner visa application is probably the easier option.
