Do you need to be a Chartered or Fully Qualified Accountant in order to pass the skills assessment for the Australian Skilled visa 189 under the General Accountant Occupation?

i think i misunderstood you. yes you should be a chartered accountant.
Well I thought the whole idea was to keep questions as simple as possible so people can understand. Anyways, what I want to know is whether a university degree in accounting is enough to pass the skills assessment for the General Accountant Occupation or one needs to be a full member of a professional accountancy body.

A degree is not adequate, your occupation must be recognised by a professional body.
I have a degree in Finance and also writing my final CIMA(UK) exams. Will you suggest I complete the CIMA exams before I pay for the skills assessment?

You need a degree assessed as equivalent to an Australian degree with specified accounting content taught to Australian stndards or membership of a recognised acccounting body.
