Hi All

Firstly thank you to those who responded to my post before. It was massively helpful but I couldn't work out how to reply to say thanks on my phone and now I can't find the post online either!

From that post I now know that when I am in Australia on a tourist visa I can apply for a spousal visa and will be given a bridging visa, and I can work etc, whilst that is determined.

My question now is on entering Australia. I *think* when you enter as a tourist you're asked to confirm the intended length of your stay, that you are entering for holiday only etc. Obviously I won't be - I'll be entering with a view to staying permanently. How do you get around this without lying? I'll be selling my flat, sending my stuff over in a ship and immediately applying. Not even intending to get a return ticket.

Do I need to have some subterfuge - although I don't like the idea of that with immigration! Or is it understood that's what people do? I don't want to be turned away at immigration control!!

Thanks all
