I have a bit of a unique question about applying for spousal visas for two countries during similar timeframes:

I am a Canadian citizen who has recently applied for a 309/100 visa from Canada, where I live with my husband of almost ten years. We are intending to travel to the UK shortly (where my husband was born, before moving to Australia as a child) and planning to live there for a year or so until we hear word from Australia on my 309/100. As it happens, the only UK visa that I qualify for that allows me to remain for more than 6 months is a UK settlement/spousal visa.

Assuming that I receive the UK visa, I believe that I would need to advise the Australian Immi folks of this.. and of course I would need to provide them with my new address.

Question: Is this going to prevent me from getting my 309/100? Is there something against holding ‘spousal’ type visas from two countries?
