Hi.

My wife and myself live in London, i am a British citizen and my wife and auzzie/british dual nationality.

We have most of the evidence ready and are about to submit our payment and evidence in the next week.

I have just read that my wife would also need to provide a police check, problem is she lived in PNG 7 years ago before coming to the UK.
Does anyone know how long roughly into the process we would be asked for this? is this when it gets allocated to a case officer and when i get asked for my health screening and police check?

Thanks for any help on this

How long did she live there for? I believe that you need to provide police clearance for places you've lived for 12 months or more.

After a quick search, it appears as though it's a lengthy process to get one. If you have a way of getting one, I would suggest starting that now.

she lived there for 4 years, so definitely over the 12 month period.

i see that i would need a police check to cover the last 10 years, i am guessing this would be the same for her as well.

she still has some friends on the ground in PNG so should be able to submit the application for us.

just seen your sign off, sounds a very quick turnaround on your 309 application, well done. fingers crossed ours is processed as quickly

Don't worry about submitting the application without the police check. Police checks and medical are the things that don't need to be submitted straight away and immigration will request them. So go ahead and submit and get your uploads in.

If it's a check that takes a while to get, you may as well start getting it now and just upload it wherever you get it.
