hello guys and gals,

I am new to this forum, I find it informative and friendly site.

I hope someone can give us some advice regarding our situation.

My husband is an Aus citizen and we are planning to apply for Spouse visa here in the Philippines this coming June.

However we are bit worried that they might deny our application because my husband previously sponsored 2 filipina wives before which resulted to divorce.

The first marriage last for 5 years and the second was 10 years.

We have one child now and been living since May 2009 and was married april 2010.

our source of income is from his TPI pension. 1,773 AUD fortnightly/.

Do we have chance in getting the visa??

hoping for your reply guys..

Thank you:):):)

Hi Thina,

While there is certainly nothing wrong with divorcing and marrying more than twice, it could be difficult for you to show that you have a genuine relationship and that your husband is commited to you. I have seen on another forum recently how hard it can be for some Filipina to just get tourist visas these days, so you could be facing a bit of a battle for him to sponsor you for a spouse visa. Unfortunatley, it seems that immigratioin is tough on visa applications from the Phillipines due to fake or fraudulent cases i.e. applicants applying for visas only as a way to gain residency.

I visit another forum regularly, though I haven't joined that one. It's run by Migration Agents, one of them based in the Phillipines and who has a Filipina wife. Head on over to:

Migration Help - Powered by vBulletin

Look through the partner visa forum and you will see a Migration Agent named Jeff Harvie. He would be able to give you more specific advice about how to approach the application and what evidence to gather. There are also a number of Migration Agents who are members of this forum, such as xdorota, so search them out and ask for some help visa a personal message.

I think if you have a truly loving relationship it will show and your application will be a success. Hope this helps :)

Further to what aussiegirl has said you ought to also have a look at the Immi visa info - Partner Visa: Offshore Temporary and Permanent (Subclasses 309 and 100)
Under eligibility for sponsorship, it says that having sponsored twice before could be a reason for refusal to be a sponsor though there are also other factors that would be looked at such as longevity of those relationships and the circumstances of the ceasing.
In your favour you are married and have a child.

Your husband ought to make some enquiries with Immi re his likelihood for eligibility.
