Dear Visa Guru,

My student visa will be expired on 15th March 2018 and I've just submitted EOI for NSW state nominations (Visa 190). My questions are as follows:-
1. If my student visa expired before I get state nominated, do I have a bridging visa?
2. Should I get a Graduate Visa as I've study for 2 years consecutive related course while waiting to get nominated?
3. Generally how long do I've to wait to get nominated as a carpenter with my current points at 60?

An EOI or state nomination does not give you a bridging visa. A bridging visa will only be granted once you have lodged a valid visa application in Australia.

Invitation for 489

Dear Visa Guru,

I was invited by RDA Southern Inland to apply for Visa 489 and I've some questions which I need your help as follows:-
1. Can my kids enrol primary school around Sydney area instead of must be in that region NSW Southern Inland whereby they've to follow the main applicant?
2. After I lived 2yrs and worked 1 yr FT in that particular region, I'm allowed to apply Visa 887. Currently my wife is self employed and had a company in nsw operating for a year, if she'll to employ me and pay me salary and super, does it constitue working FT too?
