I'm currently in Australia on a 575 student visa that was in effect since 30 june and will expire this year in august. The thing is, i discontinued my course in October because i was having difficulties with my health which was affecting my attendance. After discontinuing, i left a few days later. After rectifying my problem i tried applying for an eta to enter australia to go consult and apply in the same provider for a different course because i was under the impression that my visa was cancelled. But while applying online i was told that i still had a visa in effect which is my 575. So i entered australia and applied for my new course but i needed further documentation from the college so i returned home to get them in march and returned back to australia 5 days later with no problems with immigration. My application to the college got rejected in that particular course so i applied for another course which is under a 573 visa. Now I'm worried that because i had not been enrolled in a course for my duration in Australia since february i might be in australia unlawfully. I need advice on what i should do now in terms of my visa. Because it seems that i have breached the condition where I'm not enrolled in a course but my visa is still in effect. Please advise.

Thank you so much for your reply. I have taken a look at the link you've provided. But the thing is i might be here unlawfully as i have discontinued my studies. So i would like to know what I should do next as I am super worried that i will not get another visa for my new course. Is there a reliable immigration lawyer or consultant here in Australia which i could contact ?

Chinchin, it sounds to me like you really need a migration agent on this one. I'd suggest messaging MarkNortham here on the forum - he's a migration agent who helps people out a lot around here, and he's very knowledgeable. His rates are very reasonable as well if you need further help (and it sounds like you might).
