Hello everyone,
Just came on to introduce ourselves.
My name's Matt - I'm an Aussie who's lived in Taiwan since 2009. I am married to Lanen, who's Taiwanese, and we have our son Edward, who's 8 1/2 months. Edward became an Australian citizen a few months after his birthday and visited Australia for the first time last August to visit Grandma, Papa Tony, and his Aunty and uncles. Lanen loved Australia and we did about 10,000km, driving throughout NSW. Lanen has a Bachelor of Applied Foreign languages and she wants to use that in a job position in Australia. She also wants to study bakery at TAFE and get her bakers license. Me - well, I have a BA (education studies) from UTS and I'm finishing off my Masters of Education from a college in north eastern USA who has half a dozen satellite campuses around the world, one of them being in my city. Looking forward to applying for my teaching certificate in Oz. I'd like to teach primary school out in the country. If anyone has any suggestions on places to go and teach, let me know.
Lanen and I are going back to Australia with Edward for his 1st birthday in May, then after this we'll plan our return to Australia. I'd like to return to Australia because I want my wife and son to have a good life down under, I'd like Edward to have an Aussie primary and high school education. I'm also worried that China may attack Taiwan in the near future, so the safety of my family is obviously in my mind. Anyways, just saying hi and hope you are all well!
