Hi All,

I have been trying to find out pros and cons for applying visa (600) or my parents and in-laws.

I did some research around 600 tourist visa, however, there are two streams for visa type which is the general tourist or family visit visa and the second option is a family-sponsored visa.

As I understand, if I need to apply for tourist visa for them, I will have to show good money in their Indian bank accounts however, I can avoid that by applying family sponsored visa by showing sponsorship from here.

My irony is, family sponsored visa takes about 60 days and tourist would take about 30days as per immi website (for the best case scenario)

Hence I am not sure what is the actual difference between these two streams and which one is applicable for me? My wife is pregnant and we need to get my in-law by Jan End.

So can anyone suggest, which should be the better one to apply? I am planning to call my in-law by end of Jan and followed by my parents in March-April.

My mum is here visiting for a year from Africa. (Tourist Visa 600) I applied on her behalf on line. She is unemployed and has no bank account. I was her sponsor on her application. I provided my own bank statement with about roughly $10000 Not complicated at all. Good luck.

Thanks for the response. Does this mean you didn't apply for family-sponsored stram but you applied for tourist stream under 600?

I applied for the Tourist Visa 600. Took about 6 weeks. Granted 12 months stay with single entry. As long as you can satisfy immigration that you can afford to take care of your family while in Australia all good. Glad I could help.

Lucky - +$20,000 USD from applicant + me with several companies and a good income got refusals.

GTE and PAM 3 need to be sorted not just $'s.
