I am a Permanent Resident in Australia and got married in August last year from my home country. I applied for Partners Visa in Dec 2017 and then applied for Tourist visa for him in March 2018 but up until now the visitors visa is still showing 'further assessment'.

We have made several telephone calls and emails to the AHC in South africa but all we get is a generic response, I do not know what to do at this point because we have no clue what is happening.

Can those with more experience please advise what step to take and see that we get a decision? Thank you.

I expect that it is being highly scrutinized - What has he supplied as evidence to return after the Visitor Visa expires?

The Partner Visa application often is not enough from the South African AHC.

It has been a few years since I used them but, South Africans get priority over all other countries applicants and all except one of our applications took the exact maximum process time given at that time (they use to say up to 8 weeks - think they give a % now).

Every required evidence was submitted, I mean if they are not satisfied with it at least let them make a decision - grant or reject. The processing period stated on their webpage is 17 to 29 days but it is almost 4 months already.

I know other people waiting for 5 or 6 months without any communication or decision whatsoever for a Visitors visa application, I just need to know what options I can explore to possibly get them to look at the application.
