Tourist visa on student visa

1391 Views 12 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  ampk
Hi i am planning on applying a tourist visa from indonesia ans will be providing my boyfriend details for financial support. Hope thats common. Is an invitation letter from him is enough or do we need to provide more information

However my concern is that i was on student visa but i couldnt continue my studies and recieved an intent to cancel notification to which i have replied and back in my country. I havent recieved any reply from the department yet its been almost 2 months.

Is this the right to go about doing it or there is better way?

If you have a visa cancelled, you will have a considerable issue having a further temporay visa granted.
Student Visas have come back to haunt many, I suggest you contact an RMA and have them review you circumstances and submitted information urgently.

I have already submitted a reply and have left the country.
I would like to return however on a tourist visa.
If your COE is cancelled by your training provider and they inform IMMI.

IMMI contact you as to why your visa should not be cancelled.

Your answer/reply needs to fall into policy. Such as your are in a comma or something else that you have no control over.

Being out of the country is irrelevant.

Having a visa refused is a life long event!

I think you also will get an exclusion or a ban period if/when the visa is cancelled.

So you reckon its better to wait for their reply and then proceed?
See my first reply.

You wont get a reply from them, you will get a decision. Probably not a good one.

What are my options?
I want to go back on a short term basis

I have already submitted all the information and documents that may have required to justify my case regarding that notification
The second poster is a Registered Migration Agent, his comment suggests to me that there is policy or regulation that will exclude you from most temporary visa applications. I guess that a waiver might be possible in some cases.

I don't have access to the required information that is needed to let you know what you need to know. I just can see that you are heading towards a cliff as a cancelled visa is a big issue at times.
Thanks for the reply

I am not sure what i can do at the moment. I have provided information so to not have my student visa abruptly cancelled and i couls get a temporary short stay visa
You should contact a RMA.

It might be a better option to request it to be cancelled, but I don't know!

It seems at the moment they intend to cancel your visa because you failed to comply with the required conditions.

If you are found to have not followed previous visa conditions - do you expect that follow future visa conditions?

I expect on future visa applications (to any country) it is better to answer the why part of the question "Have you ever had a visa cancelled before" as voluntarily rather than breached visa conditions.

Ah yes. Thanks.
I did ask them to cancel it as i had given a reason for not complying and attached a one way ticket with my reply.

Maybe i can apply for a temporary visa now and mention that? Or should i wait for their deciaion.
Unfortunately there arent many good rm agents here so finding it hard
There are several on this forum you could use.

I only guess it is a better option to voluntarily cancel, there might have been better options.

I am not sure what restrictions you might have after it is cancelled, if any.
