Hi. My fiance in Vietnam just had an appointment at the Australian department of immigration in Hanoi to discuss requirements for a PMV so we can start preparing and someone there told her she can't apply for a tourist visa after. That seems contrary to what I've been reading. Can someone please clear this up for me? Thanks

I applied for an ETA after the 300 app and went to Oz on it without issue and many people do it with other subclasses of tourist visas as well.

Did 'someone there" put this advice in writing ? Was this official advice or just something someone told her?

There is nothing stopping her from applying for a tourist visa after lodging a PMV. If they will grant it is another story.
