I have submitted to withdraw my 457 through a migration agent in early September. I also submitted my 461 visa in early July. I have not been notified of the withdrawal of my 457 visa, however, I am traveling back home for the holidays and will not be in Australia during this time. I know in order to leave the country I need a specific bridging visa, but without the 457 being withdrawn, I'm unable to apply for this.

Is there anything I can do to be able to travel overseas by mid-December? Or will I need to stay in Australia until everything is processed?

The bridging visa is kinda irrelevant..

You can travel on the 457, when the 457 is withdrawn then your bringing visa will be cancelled.

Hi Mania, Thanks for your reply! However, I think the bridging visa is relevant? If I leave the country and my 457 is withdrawn while I am not in Australia, I will not receive a bridging visa... And therefore I can't get back into Australia and I'm not sure how that will affect my 461 visa application.

If the 461 is refused and the applicant is not in Australia there are no review rights.
May I suggest that you consult your registered migration agent?
