When applying for the police clearance the applicant thinks they could have been arrested but isn't sure. The question that made him think he may have been was ‘have you been arrested or cautioned?’ They were cautioned for an allege assault in 2010 but not charged.

Would it be best to be upfront & write a statement explaining they didn’t think they were arrested until they saw arrest/caution in same question & then remembered they probably were. Or should they wait to see what police clearance says when it comes.

TIA

Im no expert but I think if you weren’t taken to court it won’t show on your police record. However, I’d declear it, since the question is quite clear.

Applicant cannot remember if arrested or not. Maybe we should wait until the police clearance arrives & then if says arrested make a statement?
