Hi All,

For the Australian Citizenship interview, it has been mentioned to bring along original Birth Certificate. Now in India, not everyone has a valid Birth Certificate and alternatively the Higher Secondary Certificate and Passport are considered alternatives for validating DOB, Name and Parent's name.

However for the Australian Citizenship it has been clearly mentioned that Birth Certificate is required for approval to sit the interview test. Would a consulate issued Birth Certificate be sufficient for this purpose?

It is supposed to have all the details : Name, Father's Name, Mother's Name, DOB etc.

I am in the same boat as you. Please update if you had managed successfully with the VFS issued birth certificate
