I will also use this forum to update on the status of my visa application.

Hello there,

My fiancé is Aussie (sponsor) and I’m Vietnamese (applicant) have just got our PMV 300 grant notice TODAY, just soooo Happy and relieved after 12 months waiting. We were both crying happy tears when we received the visa grant notice.

We lodged this visa on 17Jul2017, and it’s granted on 23Jul2018. So, it’s around 12 months for this process.

We had to wait this long because our lawyer didn’t know how to handle our application properly. After lots of time hopelessly waiting for her, we decided to prepare all paperwork and evidence again to support our application. Towards the end of this process, we sent heaps of docs to our Immi account. And not long after that, just 3 weeks, we got the granted visa.

Our advice is: after lodging your application, you should work really hard to gather all needed items, especially the evidence, then upload them onto your Immi account ASAP, do NOT wait for the DIBP to tell us what we need to submit, as it will make the process last much longer than it should be... (My friends who were very well prepared for their application and docs, got their visas granted in 6-8months)

Good luck to you guys!

Congratulations! Can you let me know how long after you submitted your application did you go for your medical?
Were you sent an email asking for it or did you go as soon as you got the referral letter from the Immi page?

no news yet mate :)
still waiting, I noticed that the processing times today went up to 18-23 months. Bit concerning but if you are well prepared, it shouldn't take that long.

Fiancée PMV Granted today 23/11/18
Applied Feb 2018
This forum and its members has been a great help and contributed to a successful outcome. You need to prove "beyond doubt" that the relationship is real. I Learnt on here, that means, submitting as much relevant documentation as you can.
Hello and congratulations. I have a question and that is did you use a Migration Agency?

I did not use a migration agent. If you can complie all your own documents to prove you are in a genuine relationship "beyond reasonable doubt " I dont think an agent is needed. If there are complications with your application I would advise using and agent.

G'day mate,

Any good news? Has your visa been granted yet?

About your questions, please see my replies as follows:
1. Can you let me know how long after you submitted your application did you go for your medical?
[AMC] => 3 months after submitting our visa application on 23 Jul 2017, we received a request from DIBP for taking the medical check.

2. Were you sent an email asking for it or did you go as soon as you got the referral letter from the Immi page?
[AMC] => As my experience and understanding, it's better to wait for their request with the referral letter to get the Medical check. I don't think it's a good idea to take this medical check before they ask us, as the medical results are only valid for 1 year. If you take this medical check too early, it might be invalid before your visa is granted, then in this case, you might have to do the medical check again.

Hope this helps <3

Hey guys! So glad I found this page!

I am an Aussie Vietnamese and my partner and I are planning on lodging our pmv soon.

Can I ask you guys some questions regarding the lodging process?

My fiances English is not good at all, how would he be able to lodge the application on immi? Am i able to help him?

With the five questions about our relationship, social life etc would he need to write a Vietnamese statement and have it translated?

All our text messages are 99% in Vietnamese (besides the I love yous) would we have to pick out a few messages for every month and have it translated?

Thanks heaps guys!
