Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone can help with some info. Iam an aussie living in the UK with my Northern Ireland Partner and we are just starting the processing of a 309 visa, i have a bad credit history in australia and am paying of some debits that i have, iam just worried that this may affect the visa. iam doing the best i can to get it paid but due to the visa costs and moving expenses i may have to stop making the payments until i get back.

Iam just writing an email of to the debit company now to say i can no longer make payments until iam back.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

The 309 Sponsor application form only asks about debts to the Australian Government or Australian Public Authorities, so as long as you don’t have debts to them I’d imagine that you should be ok. If asked, it would be worth pointing out that you have been proactively engaging with your Debtors which is more than a lot would do, particularly when they are overseas.
