Hello All.

I'm coming to Australia from Denmark, because my girlfriend will be studying here for 6 months.

I have a question that I simply cannot get an answer to from anywhere, so i'm hoping that some of you guys here can answer it for me.

I work as a Software Engineer for a Danish Company, and when I get to Australia I want to keep working for them remote.

Is this allowed and is there a specific visa you need for that? I was looking at the working holiday visa, but can't figure out if that's only to be used if I get an Australian employer.

I have thought about a tourist visa, since I will not be working in Australia even though that's where I'm physically positioned.

I hope some of you guys have an input for me or maybe a solution if I'm lucky.

Working holiday visa isn't a bad idea as it gives you the option to work here doing other things, just remember if you want to do a second one (If eligable) then you will need to do regional qualifying work.

But is the working holiday visa a viable option? The way I read the working holiday visa, I have to have an Australian employer. Whereas i would keep my own employer, work for them, pay taxes in my home country and so on.

So I don't know if this is allowed on that visa?

Your not under any obligation to have an employer at all on a working holiday visa.

Yes it's a valid option.

You can continue to work for your home employer.
