VISA OPTIONS - for a child (German & Thai citizen) & partner and mother of the child

Hi there,
I am a dual citizen (German and Australian).
I have a one-year-old baby girl with my partner from Thailand. My partner is a Thai citizen.
Our girl has the German and the Thai passport.

What visa options do I have to get them to Australia?

Thanks

Cheers

Partner visa seems the obvious solution. Get citizenship by descent for the child first.

Thanks for the quick answer.

I forgot to mention that I was not an Australian citizen at the time of birth of our daughter.

About myself, I am separated for 3 years but still married... and together with my new partner for 2 years.

Thanks

Cheers

Ok, a partner visa with the child included then.

I can apply for a partner visa and still be married?

Is there not another child visa where the mother can follow because our child is just one year old?

Thanks

As long as you are in a genuine de-facto relationship and the other relationship is finished, you can still be married.

The correct pathway is a partner visa for your wife with the child included.

The mother cannot come on a child visa.

Your situation is really easy.
Since you are an australian citizen so your baby is too.
Provided is a biological kid,
All what you need to do is not more than applying australian citizenship by descent to your kid. It is done on line and it takes about a month. They will ask you provide some documents all of them pretty straight forward to get... and that is pretty much it
The whole process is done online. all best.!

The situation is not easy at all, as the OP was NOT an Australian citizen when the child was born.

To be eligible for Australian citizenship by descent:
  • you must have been born outside Australia
  • at least one of your parents must have been an Australian citizen when you were born.

So it is really not all that straightforward.

I was not clever enough i applied for the Aussie citizenship too late :-(

But ok it is what it is.

Can I apply first for a Visitor Visa and when they are here can I apply for the partner visa?

Thanks

As long as the visitor visa doesn't have a No Further Stay condition, she could then apply for a partner visa 820 after they've entered Australia.

Thanks

i am just filling the online application for the tourist visa 600 and i dont understand the question:

Non-accompanying members of the family unit
Does the applicant have any members of their family unit not travelling to Australia who are not Australian citizens or Australian permanent residents?

Do I have to list everyone from her family who is not coming to Australia for a visit?

If you click the question mark next to the question, it will explain what is included in the family unit.

Hi,*

Its maybe a stupid question but can I use my immi*account to lodge the visa online or do I have to open an account in the name of the visitor?

now we received another request

Request Detail Immigration Health Examinations

You are required to undergo the following health examination(s) to ensure that you meet the
health requirement for Visitor (Tourist) (subclass 600) visa.

● Medical Examination
● Chest X-ray Examination

is this normal ?

Yes quite normal, when we applied for a visitor visa for my wife's nephew he had to undertake a medical exam.
